¹^/ ผู้ประกันตนตามมาตรา 33 หมายถึง ผู้ซึ่งขึ้นทะเบียนประกันสังคม และหรือจ่ายเงินสมทบอันก่อให้เกิดสิทธิได้รับประโยชน์ทดแทน ตามพระราชบัญญัติประกันสังคม

Insured person under Article 33: a person who pays contributions which provides entitlement to benefits under the Social Security Act.

²^/ ผู้ประกันตนตามมาตรา 39 หมายถึง ผู้ที่เคยเป็นผู้ประกันตนตามมาตรา 33 และต่อมาความเป็นผู้ประกันตนได้สิ้นสุดลงตามมาตรา 38(2) คือ สิ้นสภาพการเป็นลูกจ้าง

Insured person under Article 39: any person who has been an insured person under Article 33 and whose insurance has subsequently ceased under Article 38(2)

และได้แจ้งความประสงค์เป็นผู้ประกันตนต่อ

and he or she notify his/her intention to continue to be insured person.

³^/ ผู้ประกันตนตามมาตรา 40 หมายถึง ผู้ที่มิใช่ผู้ประกันตนตามมาตรา 33 และมาตรา 39 และประสงค์จะสมัครเข้าเป็นผู้ประกันตนตามพระราชบัญญัติประกันสังคม พ.ศ. 2533
