61 Business and Industrial Census Chapter 3 Major Finding In the comparison of the operation information of manufacturing establishments among regions ( Table G ) , the major findings are as follows; Number and size of establishment : there were a total of 438,259 establishments . About 37 . 1 % in the Northeastern region, 23 . 0% , 1 4 . 5% , 10.3% , 7.7% , and 7 . 4 % were in the Northern, Central, Southern, Bangkok, and Vicinity, respectively . Persons engaged : a total of 5 . 3 million persons worked in manufacturing establishments . About 33 . 5 % or 1 . 8 million persons were the workers of establishments in the Central . Followed by Vicinity, Northeastern, Northern, and Bangkok there were about 28.3% , 14.0% , 9.3% , and 8.7% , respectively . At the same time, those in the Southern region had persons engaged about 6 . 2 %. Considering the number of employees, manufacturing establishments have a total of 4 . 8 million employees . About 35 . 9 % or 1 . 7 million persons were employees in the Central . Followed by Vicinity, Northeastern, and Bangkok, there were about 3 1 . 3% , 1 0 . 8% , and 9 . 0% , respectively . Those in the Northern and Southern regions had a lower proportion than the other regions about 7 . 4 % and 5 . 6 % of the total employees, respectively . 3 . 7 DATA COMPARISON AMONG REGIONS
