Introduction

Background
Statistical data, especially indicators have played very important roles and
been needed for evidence-based plans and policies, including monitoring and
evaluating
those plans and policies. The National Statistical Office, therefore,
compiles indicators of some areas which normally could be used to measure and
follow the impacts of economic, information communication and technology,
including social situation of the country.
1.2
Objectives
The objectives of compiling the economic and social indicators are.
To study and compile the economic and social situations of
Thailand, in areas such as, macroeconomics, competitiveness,
population and housing, labor force, education, public health and
other social statistics.
To monitor and evaluate plans and policies of economic and social.
To study trends of economic and social situations.
