The Internet has played a significant role in daily lives of Thai
people it was clearly seen from the frequency of using the Internet in
chart 18. Proportion of individuals using the Internet almost every day or
5-7 days a week increased from 26.4% in 2011 to 40.6% in 2012
3. Use of ICT in business/establishment
The indicators measuring the use of ICT in establishments
were compiled from establishment survey on ICT conducted by
the Thai NSO. The survey covered the establishments, engaged
in Business trade and Service, Manufacturing, Construction, Land
Transportation and Warehouse, Private Hospital and Information
and Communication, with at least 1 person engaged throughout the
country. The survey results showed that in 2012 the establishments
with 1 person engaged or more, of about 24.8% and 19.2% used
computer and the Internet respectively.
For the larger establishments, with 16 persons engaged or
more, they used computer and the Internet in their business with
much higher proportions; 81.3% and 73.7% respectively.
