ICT Indicators ในปี 2556 คนไทยอายุตั้งแต่ 6 ปีขึ้นไปร้อยละ 35.0 ใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ ซึ่งเพิ่มขึ้นจากปี 2555 (ร้อยละ 33.7) โดยในเขตเทศบาลเพิ่มขึ้นจาก 45.4 (ปี 2555) เป็นร้อยละ 46.3 ในปี 2556 นอกเขตเทศบาลเพิ่ม จากร้อยละ 27.5 ในปี 2555 เป็นร้อยละ 29.1 ในปี 2556 For a computer, the proportion of individuals using a computer in the last 12 months was 35% in 2013, increased from 33.7% in 2012. By area the results showed that proportions of both urban and rural areas increased from 45.4% to 46.3% in urban area and 27.5% to 29.0% in rural area. ในปี 2556 คนไทยอายุ 6 ปีขึ้นไปร้อยละ 28.9 ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต ซึ่งเพิ่มขึ้นจากปี 2555 (ร้อยละ 26.5) ในเขตเทศบาลเพิ่มขึ้นจากร้อยละ 37.7 เป็น 39.9 ใน ปี 2556 และนอกเขตเทศบาลเพิ่มขึ้นจากร้อยละ 20.5 ในปี 2555 เป็นร้อยละ 23.1 ในปี 2556 For the Internet, the proportion of individuals using the Internet in the last 12 months was 28.9% in 2013, increased from 26.5% in 2012. In considering by area, proportion in urban area increased from 37.7% (2012) to 39.9% (2013) and in rural area increased from 20.5% (2012) to 23.1% (2013). คนไทยอายุ 6 ปีขึ้นไปที่อยู่ในเขตเทศบาลใช้คอมพิวเตอร์และอินเทอร์เน็ตมากกว่าคนที่อยู่นอก เขตเทศบาล เนื่องจากคนในเขตเทศบาลมีความพร้อมของระบบโครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านการสื่อสารมากกว่า จึงทำ �ให้ประชาชนสามารถเข้าถึงการใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ หรืออินเทอร์เน็ตได้ง่ายกว่าคนที่อยู่นอกเขตเทศบาล ซึ่งคนที่อยู่นอกเขตเทศบาลส่วนมากใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่สถานศึกษา และร้านอินเทอร์เน็ต (ภาพ 2) Thai population living in urban area used a computer and the Internet more than those in rural area, which might be because of more availability of the ICT infrastructure in urban area. Also, most of the people in rural area used the internet at education institutes or at the internet café.
