Communication Statistics Including Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Statistics Communication statistics presented in this chapter have been compiled from The Thailand Post Company Limited, the CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, the TOT Public Company Limited and National Statistical Office. Statistics on Post were received from Thailand Post Co., Ltd , under Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. Their mission is to provide service on post and financial service. Data collected, such as postal ordinary, postal parcel, special service, money order and postal order, etc. Statistics on phone numbers of Thailand were received from TOT Public Company Limited; under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. They are operating telephone and communication, all kinds of tele-communication both national and international through any kinds of services, i.e. telephone lines, internet, and Cellular mobile's telephone. Customer zones were divided into Bangkok zone, including Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samuth prakarn and regional zone, covering the rest of provinces. Statistics on Information and Communication Technology : These statistics presented were from the surveys on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Households and in Establishments conducted by National Statistical Office. The Survey on the use of ICT in Households has been u n dertaken the first time in 2001 and since 2003 it has been carried out annually. The objective of the survey, which covered private and institutional households, was to collect number of households using ICT device. The Survey on the use of ICT in Establishments has been annually conducted since 2004 , to collect basic information regarding the use of ICT in business operation. The coverage of the survey was the industrial establishments with at least 1 person engaged, located in Whole Kingdom. E-Readiness Rank means the rank of ability in ICT competition, organized under the cooperation of Economic Intelligent Unit (EIU) and IBM Institute for Business Value, since 2000 .
