Statistics on Informal Employment : National Statistical Office conducted the first survey on Informal Employment in 2005. The survey has usually been conducted annually along with the third quarter of the labor force survey since then. The ten round was in 2014, to collect data about the number and characteristics of the population who have neither social security nor being covered by the labor law. The data presented, consisting of the number of formal and informal employment, the important demographic and social aspects of formal and informal employment, such as age, sex, level of education attainment, occupation, industry, and work hours etc. Other information such as, getting hurt or accident from work, getting medical welfare and problems in the workplace were also collected. Informal employment refers to employed persons who have not been protected under social security. Data on Minimum wage rate were obtained from Department of Labor Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labor. The Committee on Wage, which consists of three parties as set forth by the Labor Protection Act B.E 2541 (1998), is authorized to set the rate of minimum wage. The Committee on Wage was set up by the cabinet, chaired by the Permanent Secretary General of Ministry of Labor, together with 4 representatives from the Government, 5 representatives of each of employer and employee sides, as committee while the official of the Ministry of Labor is a secretary of the committee. 57 Labour Statistics
