การคาดประมาณประชากรของประเทศไทย พ . ศ . 2553 - 2583 สํานักงานคณะกรรมการพัฒนาการ เศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห งชาติ จัดทําโดยใช ข อมูลจากสํามะโน ประชากรและเคหะ พ . ศ . 2553 สํานักงานสถิติแห งชาติ เป น ข อมูลฐานในการคาดประมาณประชากร ภายใต สภาพ ข อเท็จจริงที่เป นอยู ในป จจุบันและแนวโน มการเปลี่ยนแปลง ของข อสมมติต างๆ ให มีความเหมาะสมเป นไปได มากที่สุด ที่ เกี่ยวกับจํานวน และโครงสร างอายุ เพศ ของประชากรที่ใช เป นฐาน และที่เกี่ยวกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงประชากรทั้งการ เกิด การตาย การย ายถิ่น และความเป นเมือง ซึ่งจะเป น ประโยชน ต อการนําไปวางแผนนโยบายที่เกี่ยวข องกับประชากร สถิติชีพ ได รับข อมูลจาก สํานักงานปลัดกระทรวง กระทรวงสาธารณสุข ซึ่งแสดงข อมูลเกี่ยวกับ การเกิดมีชีพ และการตาย ภายใต ข อกําหนดของพระราชบัญญัติการ ทะเบียนราษฎร ที่การเกิดจะต องแจ งต อสํานักทะเบียนภายใน 15 วัน นับแต วันที่เกิด และการตายจะต องแจ งต อสํานัก ทะเบียนภายใน 24 ชั่วโมงนับแต เวลาตายหรือพบศพ ส วน การตายของทารกในครรภ ป จจุบันกฎหมายมิได กําหนดให ต องแจ งการจดทะเบียนราษฎร  การสํารวจการย ายถิ่นของประชากร สํานักงาน สถิติแห งชาติ ได เริ่มดําเนินการสํารวจการย ายถิ่นของ ประชากรครั้งแรกในป 2517 โดยทําการสํารวจเฉพาะการ ย ายเข าสู กรุงเทพมหานคร ต อมาในป 2526-2533 ได ขยาย ขอบข าย การสํารวจเป นการย ายเข าสู จังหวัดที่อยู ในเขต ปริมณฑลของกรุงเทพมหานคร และบางจังหวัดในส วน ภูมิภาคซึ่งกําหนดให เป นเมืองหลักในการพัฒนา และตั้งแต ป 2535 จนถึงป ป จจุบัน ได ขยายขอบข ายการสํารวจให ครอบคลุมทั่วทั้งประเทศ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค เพื่อรวบรวม Population Projection of Thailand 2010 - 2040 . Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) has been responsible for the population projection of the country. The latest version of the 2010 - 2040 population projection was set up by using the 2010 population and housing census, conducted by the National Statistical Office, which was the latest round, as the base data in order to comply with the current population situation on age - sex structure and appropriate assumptions on births, deaths, migration and urbanization. The population projection could be the sound input information for evidence-based plans and policies. Vital Statistics presented in this chapter were obtained from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health. It showed the data relating to births and deaths. According to the Civil Registration Act, birth must be registered at the Registration Office within 15 days from the date of birth, and deaths must be registered within 24 hours from the tim e at death or at the time the body found. Migration Survey: The National Statistical Office of Thailand conducted the first migration survey in 1974, covering only the people migrated to Bangkok. Later during 1983-1990, the coverage was expanded to cover the people migrated to Vicinity and some provinces identified as major developing ones.
