สถิติประชากรจากการทะเบียน เดิมสํานัก ทะเบียนจังหวัดจะทําการรวบรวม จํานวนการเกิด การตาย การย ายออก และการย ายเข า ซึ่งได รับแจ งจากเจ าของบ าน หรือผู ที่เกี่ยวข อง แล วนํามาประมวลผลที่สํานักบริหารการ ทะเบียน เพื่อออกเป นรายงานข อมูลสถิติจํานวนประชากร ทั้งประเทศ รายจังหวัด อําเภอ และเขตเทศบาล โดยจะ ออกรายงานป ละครั้ง ณ วันที่ 31 ธันวาคม ในป 2531 ได นําเลขประจําตัวประชาชน 13 หลัก ของคนไทยทุกคนมาบันทึกจัดสร างเป นฐานข อมูลทะเบียน ราษฎร ดําเนินการเก็บรวบรวมข อมูลจากทะเบียนบ าน และจัดทําเป นฐานข อมูลการทะเบียน ต อมาในป 2540 ได ปรับปรุงโดยใช ระบบออนไลน จากสํานักทะเบียน เขต / อําเภอ และกิ่งอําเภอ สําหรับจํานวนประชากรทั่วราชอาณาจักรที่ลดลงใน ป 2547 เนื่องจาก โครงการปรับปรุงแก ไข และจําหน าย รายการบุคคลในทะเบียนบ านกลางทั่วราชอาณาจักร และ โครงการตรวจสอบแก ไขรายการบุคคลในทะเบียนบ านกรณี ชื่อเกิน และซ้ําซ อน ประชากรในทะเบียนบ านกลาง หมายความว า ทะเบียนซึ่งผู อํานวยการทะเบียนกลางกําหนดให จัดทําขึ้น สําหรับลงรายการบุคคลที่ไม อาจมีชื่อในทะเบียนบ าน ประชากรอยู ระหว างการย าย หมายถึง การแจ ง ย ายต นทาง โดยผู ถูกย ายยังไม มีการแจ งย ายเข าทะเบียนบ าน อื่น และถือใบรับแจ งการย ายที่อยู ( ท . ร .6 : ใบแจ งย าย ทะเบียนบ าน ) Population statistics were from the Bureau of Registration Administration. Before 1987 , the Provincial Registration Offices collected the data on birth, death, registered-out and registered-in from the notifications of the household member or the person concerned. The data were processed at the Bureau of Registration Administration, and presented at the national, provincial, district and municipal areas levels. The population statistics under the registration system were presented once a year on December 31 In 1988 , the Bureau of Registration Administration constructed the database of population registration by using people’s identification number (off line). In 1997 , online system was introduced to local Registration Administration Offices in some districts and sub-districts. Finally in 2004 , the online system was completely installed in all local Registration Administration Offices throughout the country. In 2004 , the Department of Provincial Administration, has reviewed and made necessary correction due to double counting of the registered people. Therefore, the accurate figure of the country’s total population has been accordingly attained. Population registered in central house file is a document produced by Registration Administration Bureau. The said document compiles name of the persons who are unable to register their names in any house registration certificates. Transferring population means person whose name has been removed from current home registration certificates and unable to register his/her name in any other home registration certificate and thereby being given transferring paper by the authority.
