สถิติการขนส่ง และโลจิสติกส์ ที่นาเสนอในบทนี้ได้ รวบรวมข้อมูลจาก กรมทางหลวง กรมการขนส่งทางบก การทางพิเศษแห่งประเทศไทย การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย บริษัท ท่าอากาศยานไทย จากัด (มหาชน) กระทรวง คมนาคม สานักงานตารวจแห่งชาติ และสานักงาน คณะกรรมการพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ สานัก นายกรัฐมนตรี กรมทางหลวง กระทรวงคมนาคม มีหน้าที่ตรวจ ตราและควบคุมทางหลวง และงานทางที่เกี่ยวกับทางหลวง พิเศษ ทางหลวงแผ่นดิน และทางหลวงสัมปทาน กรมทางหลวง ได้นาเสนอข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับ ทาง ก่อสร้าง ทางรักษาสภาพ และ บารุงทาง พระราชบัญญัติทางหลวง (ฉบับที่ 2) พ.ศ. 2549 แบ่งออกเป็น 5 ประเภท ดังนี้ ทางหลวงพิเศษ คือ ทางหลวงที่จัดหรือท าไว้ เพื่อให้การจราจรผ่านได้ตลอดรวดเร็วเป็นพิเศษ ตามที่ รัฐมนตรีประกาศ กาหนด และได้ลงทะเบียนไว้เป็นทางหลวง พิเศษ โดยกรมทางหลวงเป็นผู้ด าเนินการก่อสร้าง ขยาย บูรณะและ บารุงรักษา รวมทั้งควบคุมให้มีการเข้าออกได้ เฉพาะ โดยทางเสริมที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของทางหลวงพิเศษตามที่ กรมทางหลวงจัดท าขึ้นไว้เท่านั้น ทางหลวงแผ่นดิน คือ ทางหลวงสายหลักที่เป็น โครงข่ายเชื่อมระหว่างภาค จังหวัด อาเภอ ตลอดจนสถานที่ สาคัญ ที่กรมทางหลวง เป็นผู้ด าเนินการก่อสร้าง ขยาย บูรณะและ บารุงรักษา และได้ลงทะเบียนไว้เป็น ทางหลวง แผ่นดิน Transport and Logistics Statistics Transport and Logistics statistics presented in this chapter have been derived from the Department of Highways, the Department of Land Transport, The Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, the State Railway of Thailand, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, Ministry of Transport, Royal Thai Policeand the National Economic and Social Development Board, Office of the Prime Minister. The Department of Highways is responsible for monitoring and controlling only for special highways, national highways and concession highways. Statistics presented were the data on under construction roads, and maintenance. Highway Act, ( 2006 revision) classifies highway into five categories as follows: A special highway or motorway is a high capacity highway designed for high speed traffic, for which the Department of Highways carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs, and is registered as such. Motorway entrances and exits have controlled access, and controlled by the DOH. Registration of motorways is overseen by the Director General of the DOH. A national highway is a primary highway, part of the network connecting regions, provinces, districts, and other important destinations, for which the DOH carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs.
