ดัชนีราคาผู ผลิตของประเทศไทย มี 2 โครงสร าง คือ 1. โครงสร างแบ งตามขั้นตอนการผลิต ( Stage of Processing: SOP) จั ดทํ า ครั้ ง แ ร ก เ มื่ อ ป 25 2 8 ประกอบด วย 3 หมวดใหญ คือ หมวดสินค าสําเร็จรูป หมวดสินค ากึ่งสํารูป (แปรรูป) และหมวดสินค าวัตถุดิบ สําหรับโครงสร างชุดนี้ไม มีดัชนีรวม เนื่องจากดัชนี 3 หมวด ใหญ แยกเป นอิสระ เพื่อสะท อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงราคาสินค า ในแต ละขั้นตอนการผลิต 2. โครงสร างแบ งตามกิจกรรมการผลิต (Classification of Products by Activity: CPA) จัดทําครั้งแรกเมื่อป 2543 ประกอบด วย 3 หมวดใหญ คือ หมวดผลผลิตเกษตรกรรม หมวดผลิตภัณฑ จากเหมือง และหมวดผลิตภัณฑ อุตสาหกรรม สําหรับโครงสร างชุดนี้ มีดัชนีรวม เพื่อสะท อนการ เปลี่ยนแปลงราคาสินค าผู ผลิตโดยรวมของประเทศ และในแต ละกลุ มสินค า การจัดทําดัชนีราคาผู ผลิต จําเป นต องมีการพัฒนา และปรับปรุงข อมูลให ทันสมัยอยู เสมอตามโครงสร างการผลิต ที่เปลี่ยนแปลง ทั้งรายการสินค า (Items) ลักษณะจําเพาะ สินค า (Specifications) แหล งจัดเก็บราคาและน้ําหนัก ความสําคัญของสินค า (Weights) ตลอดจนป ฐาน (Base year) ที่ใช เปรียบเทียบการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคาโดยลักษณะ จําเพาะสินค า และแหล งจัดเก็บข อมูลราคาจะดําเนินการ ปรับปรุงทุกป เพื่อให ทันสมัย ส วนการปรับปรุงโครงสร าง รายการ น้ําหนักสินค า และป ฐานจะปรับทุก 5 ป ตาม โครงสร างการผลิตที่เปลี่ยนแปลง Producer Price Index is composed of two major groups as follow: 1. Producer Price Index by stage of processing (SOP) : The initial calculation of this index was in 1985 . It wascalculated from three major groups of products, namely finished goods, intermediate materials and crude materials. Based on each Producer Price Index of three major product groups is independent, and reflecting the rate of change in such prices in each stage of processing, thus, total index is not calculated. 2. Producer Prices Index as classification of products by activity (CPA) : The initial calculation of this index was in 2000 . It calculated from three major groups of products, namely agricultural products, mining products and manufactured products. Not only Producer Price Index of which is derived from the calculation of three major product groups, the total index reflecting the rate of change in such producers’ prices of each product groups as totally is also calculated. To reach the extremely real Index, thus, Producer Price Index (PPI) calculation has been adjusted the product listing and theirs weight according to theirs significant every four year.
