สถิติการขนส ง และโลจิสติกส ที่นําเสนอในบทนี้ได รวบรวมข อมูลจาก กรมทางหลวง กรมการขนส งทางบก การทางพิเศษแห งประเทศไทย การรถไฟแห งประเทศไทย บริษัท ท าอากาศยานไทย จํากัด (มหาชน) กระทรวง คมนาคม สํานักงานตํารวจแห งชาติ และสํานักงานสภา พัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห งชาติ สํานักนายกรัฐมนตรี กรมทางหลวง กระทรวงคมนาคม มีหน าที่ตรวจ ตราและควบคุมทางหลวง และงานทางที่เกี่ยวกับทางหลวง พิเศษ ทางหลวงแผ นดิน และทางหลวงสัมปทาน กรมทางหลวง ได นําเสนอข อมูลเกี่ยวกับ ทาง ก อสร าง ทางรักษาสภาพ และบํารุงทาง พระราชบัญญัติทางหลวง (ฉบับที่ 2) พ.ศ. 2549 แบ งออกเป น 5 ประเภท ดังนี้ ทางหลวงพิเศษ คือ ทางหลวงที่จัดหรือทําไว เพื่อให การจราจรผ านได ตลอดรวดเร็วเป นพิเศษ ตามที่ รัฐมนตรีประกาศกําหนด และได ลงทะเบียนไว เป นทางหลวง พิเศษ โดยกรมทางหลวงเป นผู ดําเนินการก อสร าง ขยาย บูรณะและบํารุงรักษา รวมทั้งควบคุมให มีการเข าออกได เฉพาะ โดยทางเสริมที่เป นส วนหนึ่งของทางหลวงพิเศษตามที่ กรมทางหลวงจัดทําขึ้นไว เท านั้น ทางหลวงแผ นดิน คือ ทางหลวงสายหลักที่เป น โครงข ายเชื่อมระหว างภาค จังหวัด อําเภอ ตลอดจนสถานที่ สําคัญ ที่กรมทางหลวง เป นผู ดําเนินการก อสร าง ขยาย บูรณะและบํารุงรักษา และได ลงทะเบียนไว เป น ทางหลวง แผ นดิน Transport and Logistics Statistics Transport and Logistics statistics presented in this chapter have been derived from the Department of Highways, the Department of Land Transport, The Expressway and Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, the State Railway of Thailand, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, Ministry of Transport, Royal Thai Policeand the National Economic and Social Development Council, Office of the Prime Minister. The Department of Highways is responsible for monitoring and controlling only for special highways, national highways and concession highways. Statistics presented were the data on under construction roads, and maintenance. Highway Act, ( 2006 revision) classifies highway into five categories as follows: A special highway or motorway is a high capacity highway designed for high speed traffic, for which the Department of Highways carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs, and is registered as such. Motorway entrances and exits have controlled access, and controlled by the DOH. Registration of motorways is overseen by the Director General of the DOH. A national highway is a primary highway, part of the network connecting regions, provinces, districts, and other important destinations, for which the DOH carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs.
