สถิติการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา สถิติการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา รวบรวมข้อมูลจาก กรมการท่อง เที่ยว กระทรวงการท่อง เที่ยวและกีฬา และสานักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ กระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจ และสังคม การส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย เกิดขึ้นด้วย ความคิดริเริ่มของพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอกรมพระกาแพงเพชร อัครโยธิน ครั้งด ารงตาแหน่งผู้บัญชาการรถไฟ ได้จัดตั้ง แผนกโฆษณาของการรถไฟขึ้นในปี 2467 เพื่อรับรอง และให้ ความสะดวกแก่นักท่องเที่ยวที่เดินทางมาประเทศไทย รวมทั้งการโฆษณาเผยแพร่เมืองไทยให้เป็นที่รู้จักของชาว ต่างประเทศ สถิตินักท่องเที่ยว รวบรวมข้อมูลจากบัตร ผู้โดยสารขาเข้า – ขาออก ( บัตรตม. 6 ) ของสานักงานตรวจ คนเข้าเมือง สานักงานตารวจแห่งชาติ ซึ่งเป็นข้อมูลเฉพาะ นักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติ นักท่องเที่ยว หมายถึง บุคคลที่มิได้มีที่พานัก อาศัยถาวรในราชอาณาจักรไทย เดินทางเข้ามาพักค้างคืนใน ประเทศไทยอย่างน้อย 1 คืน แต่ไม่เกิน 90 วัน เพื่อพักผ่อน เยี่ยมญาติ และประชุม โดยมิได้ก่อให้เกิดค่าจ้างค่าตอบแทน จากผู้ใดในประเทศไทย โรงแรมและเกสต์เฮาส์ สานักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ ได้จัดท าการสารวจโรงแรมและเกสต์เฮาส์อย่างต่อเนื่องเป็น ประจาทุก 2 ปี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล การด าเนินกิจการโรงแรม รีสอร์ท และเกสต์เฮาส์ เช่น ลักษณะการด าเนินกิจการ จานวนห้องพัก จานวนผู้ที่มาพัก จานวนคนท างาน รายรับ และค่าใช้จ่ายในการด าเนินกิจการ เป็นต้นเพื่อให้หน่วยงานภาครัฐใช้ในการวางแผนกาหนด นโยบายการพัฒนาในด้านการบริการที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสาขาการ ท่องเที่ยวและธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวข้องสาหรับภาคเอกชนใช้ประโยชน์ ในการวางแผนธุรกิจการตัดสินใจลงทุนการขยายกิจการของ สาขา Tourism and Sports Statistics Tourism and sports statistics presented in this chapter have been derived from the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports and National Statistical Office, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. H.R.H. Krompra Kampaengpet Akkarayothin, commissioner of the former State Railways Department, initially promoted tourism by setting up a Public Relations Section in 1924 to provide facilities and services to tourists visiting Thailand and also to publicize Thailand to foreigners. Tourism statistics presented in this chapter have been derived from immigration cards collected by Immigration Bureau, Royal Thai Police. Tourist refers to any persons who have no permanent residence in Thailand, but make a visit to Thailand at least one night but not more than 90 days. The purpose of visiting Thailand would be for leisure, visiting family/relatives, mission and meeting but not for remunerated activity purposes. Hotel and Guesthouse: National Statistical Office has continually conducted the Hotel and Guesthouse Survey every two years with the aim to collect information on the business operation of the hotels, resorts and guesthouses for example type of the business, number of rooms, number of guests, number of workers, income and expenditures from business operation, etc. These information are useful for government agencies on developing plans and policy for service sector especially the sector of tourism and related business as well as for private agencies on developing their own business plan and investment of their business.
