สถิติประชากรศาสตร์ ประชากร และเคหะ สถิติจำนวนประชำกรซึ่งเสนอในบทนี้ส่วนใหญ่ ได้ข้อมูลจำกสำนักบริหำรกำรทะเบียน กรมกำรปกครอง กระทรวงมหำดไทย สำนักงำนสภำพัฒนำกำรเศรษฐกิจ และสังคมแห่งชำติ สำนักนำยกรัฐมนตรี สำนักงำนสถิติ แห่งชำติ กระทรวงดิจิทัลเพื่อเศรษฐกิจและสังคม และสำนักงำนปลัดกระทรวงสำธำรณสุข สถิติประชากรจากส ามะโนประชากรและเคหะ ประเทศไทยจัดท ำสำมะโมประชำกรและเคหะทุก 10 ปี ตำม ข้อเสนอแนะขององค์กำรสหประชำขำติ ( UN ) ที่ขอให้ทุก ประเทศในโลก จัดท ำสำมะโนประชำกรและเคหะอย่ำงน้อยทุก 10 ปี ในปี ค.ศ. ที่ลงท้ำยด้วย “ 0 ” เช่น 1990 2000 2010 เป็นต้น เพื่อให้แต่ละประเทศมีข้อมูลทำงด้ำนประชำกรและ สังคมในช่วงเวลำเดียวกัน สำหรับประเทศไทยได้จัดท ำสำมะโน ประชำกรมำแล้ว 11 ครั้ง จัดท ำครั้งแรกเมื่อปี 2452 โดย ครั้งที่ 1 ถึง ครั้งที่ 5 จัดท ำโดยกระทรวงมหำดไทย (เรียกว่ำ สำมะโนครัว) และครั้งที่ 6 พ.ศ. 2503 เป็นต้นมำ จัดท ำโดย สำนักงำนสถิติแห่งชำติ สำหรับปี พ.ศ. 2553 เป็นกำรจัดท ำ สำมะโนประชำกรครั้งที่ 11 ครบรอบ 100 ปีสำมะโนประชำกร ประเทศไทย และเป็นครั้งที่ 5 ของกำรจัดท ำสำมะโนประชำกร และเคหะ เพื่อรวบรวมข้อมูลสถิติเกี่ยวกับจำนวนและลักษณะ ต่ำงๆ ของประชำกรทุกคนในครัวเรือน ตลอดจนสภำพกำร อยู่อำศัยของประชำกร ที่เป็นข้อเท็จจริงในวันสำมะโน เพื่อนำ ข้อมูลไปใช้ในกำรวำงแผนและกำหนดนโยบำยต่ำง ๆ ทั้ง ภำครัฐและเอกชน Demographic, Population and Housing Statistics Population statistics presented in this chapter were obtained from the Bureau of Registration Administration, the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council, Office of the Prime Minister, the National Statistical Office, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and Office of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Public Health. Population Statistics from the Population and Housing Census; the National Statistical Office has been carrying out the Population Census every 10 years, ended with “ 0 ” such as 1990, 2000, 2010, according to the United Nations Recommendation to obtain population and social data. Thailand has already conducted the population 11 times, the first time was in 1909. The first five rounds of the population census were under responsibility of the Ministry of Interior (it was called “household census”). Since the sixth round; in 1960, it has been strictly conducted every 10 years under the National Statistical Office’s mandate, the 2010 is the eleventh round of the population census and the fifth round of the housing one. This eleventh round has marked the 100 th year anniversary of the Thai population census. This round, as before, aims to collect data concerning number and characteristics of all members in all households, including living conditions of the population on the census date, to serve these kinds of data to public and private sectors for their evidence- based plans and policies.
