ทางหลวงชนบท คือ ทางหลวงที่กรมทางหลวง ชนบทเป็นผู้ด าเนินการก่อสร้าง ขยาย บูรณะ และ บารุงรักษา และได้ลงทะเบียนไว้เป็นทางหลวงชนบท ทางหลวงท้องถิ่น คือ ทางหลวงที่องค์กรปกครอง ส่วนท้องถิ่นเป็นผู้ด าเนินการก่อสร้าง ขยาย บูรณะ และ บารุงรักษา และได้ลงทะเบียนไว้เป็นทางหลวงท้องถิ่น ทางหลวงสัมปทาน คือ ทางหลวงที่รัฐบาลได้ สัมปทานตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยทางหลวงที่ได้รับสัมปทาน และได้ลงทะเบียนไว้เป็นทางหลวงสัมปทาน กรมการขนส่งทางบก กระทรวงคมนาคม เป็น หน่วยงานที่รวบรวมข้อมูลการจดทะเบียนรถใหม่ การต่ออายุ ทะเบียน การย้ายออก การย้ายเข้า การโอนกรรมสิทธิ์ และอื่นๆ ตามพระราชบัญญัติการขนส่งทางบก พุทธศักราช 2522 แยกตามประเภทของรถยนต์ดังนี้ คือ รถโดยสาร ประจาทาง รถโดยสารไม่ประจาทาง รถโดยสารส่วนบุคคล รถบรรทุกไม่ประจาทาง รถบรรทุกส่วนบุคคล และรถขนาดเล็ก รถยนต์ หมายถึง รถยนต์สาธารณะ รถยนต์บริการ และรถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล รถยนต์บริการธุรกิจ หมายถึง รถยนต์ที่ใช้บรรทุก คนโดยสารระหว่างท่าอากาศยาน ท่าเรือเดินทะเล สถานี ขนส่งหรือสถานีรถไฟกับโรงแรมที่พักอาศัย ที่ท าการของ ผู้โดยสารหรือที่ท าการของผู้บริการธุรกิจนั้น รถ ย นต์ บ ริ ก า ร ทั ศน า จร ห ม าย ถึ ง รถ ย น ต์ ที่ผู้ประกอบธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับการท่องเที่ยวใช้รับส่งคนโดยสาร เพื่อการท่องเที่ยว A rural highway or rural road is a highway for which the Department of Rural Roads (DORR) carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs. Registration of rural highways is overseen by the Director General of the DORR. A local highway or local route is a highway for which the local administrative organization carries out construction, expansion, upkeep and repairs. Registration of rural highways is overseen by the provincial governor. A concession highway is a highway for which a legal government concession has been granted. Registration of concession highways is overseen by the Director General of the DOH The Department of Land Transport; Ministry of Transport is the agency responsible for registration of new vehicle, license, renewal, rights transfer and others. According to Land Transport Act B.E. 2522 (1979) , vehicles are classified as follows: fixed route bus, non-fixed route bus, private car, non-fixed route truck, private truck and mini bus. Vehicle: public vehicle, vehicle for service and private car.
