ระดับอุดมศึกษาเป นการศึกษาหลังระดับมัธยมศึกษา ตอนปลายแบ งเป น 3 ระดับ คือ การศึกษาระดับต่ํากว า ปริญญาตรี การศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี และการศึกษา ระดับสูงกว าปริญญาตรี การจัดการศึกษาตามแนวระบบโรงเรียนอาจจัดเป น การศึกษาประเภทต างๆ ได ตามความเหมาะสมและตาม ความต องการของกลุ มเป าหมาย ชุมชน และประเทศ เช น การฝ กหัดครู การศึกษาวิชาชีพ การศึกษาวิชาชีพพิเศษ การศึกษาวิชาชีพเฉพาะกิจหรือ เฉพาะบุคคลบางกลุ ม การศึกษาพิเศษ และการศึกษาของภิกษุ สามเณร นักบวช และบุคลากรทางศาสนา เป นต น การจัดการศึกษาประเภท ต างๆ เหล านี้ไม เพียงแต จัดตามความ เหมาะสมหรือ เพื่อสนองความต องการเฉพาะของกลุ มเป าหมายแต ยังต อง คํานึงถึงการให บุคคลได พัฒนาทั้งในด านคุณธรรม ความรู ความสามารถ และทักษะอย างสมดุลควบคู กันไปด วย ใ น ป ก า ร ศึก ษ า 2542 ร ะ บบก า ร ศึ ก ษ า ต า ม พระราชบัญญัติการศึกษาแห งชาติ พ.ศ. 2542 กําหนดให ประชาชนทุกคนมีสิทธิได รับการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานไม น อยกว า 12 ป โดยไม เก็บค าใช จ ายและได กําหนดให มีการศึกษาภาค บังคับจํานวน 9 ป (ประถมศึกษาป ที่ 1 ถึงมัธยมศึกษาป ที่ 3) จากเดิมที่กําหนดไว แค 6 ป ตามพระราชบัญญัตินี้ได จัดการศึกษาเป น 3 รูปแบบ คือ การศึกษาในระบบการศึกษา นอกระบบ และการศึกษา ตามอัธยาศัย การศึกษาในระบบมี 2 ระดับ 1. การศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐานประกอบด วยการศึกษาก อน ระดับอุดมศึกษา ซึ่งแบ งออกเป น 3 ระดับ คือ ระดับก อน ประถมศึกษา ระดับประถมศึกษา และระดับมัธยมศึกษา 2. การศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาแบ งเป น 2 ระดับ คือ ระดับต่ํากว าปริญญาตรี และระดับปริญญา Higher level is a post-secondary education which is divided into three levels: diploma, under graduate and graduate levels. The provision of formal education is flexible, depending on the different ability groups, school location and the nation’s needs. There is vocational training for the students who are good at skills and who want to meet the labor market. Teacher training is for those who are interested in teaching. Special education is provided for the people who are disabled and difficult in learning. Welfare education is for the poor and remote rural students. Purposive education is offered based on the schools’ potential and the nation’s needs such as nursing, military and police cadet and transport and telecommunication as well. In 1999 the educational system was based on the National Education Act of B.E. 2542 (1999). All individuals shall have equal rights to receive basic education provided by the State for the duration of at least 12 years, free of charge. Compulsory education shall be for nine years, (grade 1 - grade 9 ) formerly it was at least 6 years. In this Act there shall be three types of education: formal education, non-formal education and informal education. Formal education is divided into two levels: 1. Basic education; education levels before higher education, consists of 3 levels namely, pre-elementary level, elementary level and secondary level. 2.
