จัดเก็บข อมูลสํามะโนประชากรและเคหะ พ.ศ. 2563 โดย วิธีการสัมภาษณ จากประชาชนผู ให คําตอบโดยตรง ได นอกจากนี้ สํานักงานสถิติแห งชาติได หารือกับผู ทรงคุณวุฒิ ด านประชากรศาสตร พบว าการจัดเก็บข อมูลในสถานการณ การแพร ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา จะทําให ได ข อมูล สถิติประชากรที่มีความคลาดเคลื่อนได เนื่องจากลักษณะทาง ประชากรและการย ายถิ่นของประชากรมีความเปลี่ยนแปลง ไปจากสถานการณ ปกติ อีกทั้งคณะกรรมการบริหาร โครงการสํามะโนประชากรและเคหะ พ.ศ. 2563 ได มีมติให เลื่อนการดําเนินงานสํามะโนประชากรและเคหะ พ.ศ. 2563 ออกไปจนกว าสถานการณ การระบาดจะสิ้นสุดลง สถิติประชากรจากการทะเบียน ก อนป 2531 สํานักทะเบียนจังหวัดได รวบรวม จํานวนการเกิด การตาย การย ายออก และการย ายเข า ซึ่งได รับแจ งจากเจ าของบ าน หรือผู ที่เกี่ยวข อง แล วนํามาประมวลผลที่สํานักบริหาร การทะ เ บียน เพื่อออกเป นรายงานข อมูลสถิติจํานวน ประชากรทั้งประเทศ รายจังหวัด อําเภอ และเขตเทศบาล โดยนําเสนอรายงานป ละครั้ง ณ วันที่ 31 ธันวาคม ในป 2531 ได นําเลขประจําตัวประชาชน 13 หลัก ของคนไทยทุกคนมาบันทึกจัดสร างเป นฐานข อมูลทะเบียน ราษฎร ดําเนินการเก็บรวบรวมข อมูลจากทะเบียนบ าน และจัดทําเป นฐานข อมูลการทะเบียน ต อมาในป 2540 ได ปรับปรุงโดยใช ระบบออนไลน จากสํานักทะเบียน เขต/อําเภอ และกิ่งอําเภอ และเสร็จสมบูรณ ใช ได ทั่วประเทศ ในป 2547 based plans and policies. Therefore, it is not possible to collect data from the 2020 Population and Housing Census through direct interviews. It found that data storage in the epidemic situation of coronavirus would result in inaccurate demographic data because the demographic and migration characteristics of the population have changed from the normal situation. In addition, the 2020 Population and Housing Census Executive Committee has decided to postpone the 2020 Population and Housing Census until the epidemic situation is over. Population statistics were from the Bureau of Registration Administration. Before 1988 , the Provincial Registration Offices collected the data on birth, death, registered-out and registered-in from the notifications of the household member or the person concerned. The data were processed at the Bureau of Registration Administration, and presented at the national, provincial, district and municipal areas levels. The population statistics under the registration system were presented once a year on December 31 . In 1988 , the Bureau of Registration Administration constructed the database of population registration by using people’s identification number (off line). In 1997 , online system was introduced to local Registration Administration Offices in some districts and sub-districts.
