สําหรับจํานวนประชากรทั่วราชอาณาจักรที่ลดลง ในป 2547 เนื่องจากโครงการปรับปรุง แก ไข และจําหน าย รายการบุคคลในทะเบียนบ านกลางทั่วราชอาณาจักร และ โครงการตรวจสอบแก ไขรายการบุคคลในทะเบียนบ าน กรณีชื่อเกินและซ้ําซ อน การคาดประมาณประชากรของประเทศไทย พ.ศ. 2553 - 2583 สํานักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจ และสังคมแห งชาติ จัดทําโดยใช ข อมูลจากสํามะโนประชากร และเคหะ พ.ศ. 2553 สํานักงานสถิติแห งชาติ เป นข อมูล ฐานในการคาดประมาณประชากร ภายใต สภาพข อเท็จจริงที่ เป นอยู ในป จจุบันและแนวโน มการเปลี่ยนแปลงของข อสมมติ ต างๆ ให มีความเหมาะสมเป นไปได มากที่สุด ที่เกี่ยวกับ จํานวนและโครงสร างอายุ เพศของประชากรที่ใช เป นฐาน และที่ เ กี่ยวกับการ เ ปลี่ยนแปลงปร ะชากรทั้งการ เ กิด การตาย การย ายถิ่น และความเป นเมือง ซึ่งเป นประโยชน ต อการนําไปวางแผนนโยบายที่เกี่ยวข องกับประชากร สถิติชีพ แสดงข อมูลเกี่ยวกับการเกิดมีชีพและ การตาย ซึ่งสํานักงานปลัดกระทรวงสาธารณสุข ได ทําความ ตกลงในการใช ฐานข อมูลทะเบียนราษฎร จากกรมการปกครอง กระทรวงมหาดไทย ภายใต ข อกําหนดของพระราชบัญญัติ In 2004 , the Department of Provincial Administration, has reviewed and made necessary correction due to double counting of the registered people. Therefore, the accurate figure of the country’s total population has been accordingly attained. Population Projection of Thailand 2010 - 2040 : Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council has been responsible for the population projection of the country. The latest version of the 2010 - 2040 population projection was set up by using the 2010 population and housing census, conducted by the National Statistical Office, which was the latest round, as the base data in order to comply with the current population situation on age - sex structure and appropriate assumptions on births, deaths, migration and urbanization. The population projection could be the sound input information for evidence - based plans and policies. Vital Statistics: Showed the data relating to births and deaths.
