Preface
The National Statistical Office (NSO) conducted the 2018 Survey on People’s Quality of
Life and Sustainability in accordance with Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for the first time. The
survey aims to collect information on people's livelihoods in various aspects including economy,
society, environment, health, happiness, learning and culture. As a result, the government
agencies will have information for policy implementation to encourage people to follow the
sufficiency and sustainable economic approach.
In this survey, NSO obtained cooperation from the Thailand Development Research
Institute (TDRI) in academic counseling and carry out a joint project.
NSO sincerely expects that this report will be useful to government agencies and
private agencies. The results will also encourage general public in giving importance to the self-
sufficient lifestyle, leading to the sustainable and good quality of life.
