Due to the increasing demand of data for formulating plans and policy at provincial level, the
National Statistical Office has expanded sample size to propose statistical data at provincial level,
commencing from survey in February and August
1994
. For the fourth round in November
1998
, data was
presented at the first time and presentation data at provincial level.

of the Labour Force Survey, Whole Kingdom, published by National Statistical Office.
Statistics on Informal Employment
:
National Statistical Office has incorporated questions
concerning informal employment of the Labor Force Survey, since
2005
. The objective was to study the
needs of population in expansion social security protection scheme to cover informal employment.
Informal employment refers to employed persons who have not been protected under social
security.
Statistics on Home Workers
:
National Statistical Office has conducted the Survey on Home
Workers in
1999
to collect information concerning home worker, social welfare and protection,
including obstacles and needs of assistance from the Government. The survey covered private and
special households with members aged
15
and over and with home worker.
Minimum wage rate
was obtained from Department of Labor Protection and Welfare, Ministry
of Labor.

Ministry of Labor, has compiled minimum wage rate.
The Committee on Wage, which consists of three parties as set forth by the Labor Protection Act B.E
2541
(1998)
, is authorized to set the rate of minimum wage. There are total

members in the Committee,

from each party.
The Committee on wage has decentralized its power to regional committee for making decision for
minimum wage rate by appointing sub-committee of minimum wage rate for Bangkok and for

provinces.
This sub-committees consist of the same

parties as the Committee on Wage.
In considering the rate of minimum wage, the Committee on Wage has taken into account of the
Regulation no.

of the Labor Protection Act B.E.

, cost of living index, inflation rate, cost of
living standard, cost of production, cost of merchandise, business ability and quality of labor.
