The Population Projection of Thailand during
2000 – 2030;
the National Economic and
Social Development Board, by using data from the
2000
Population and Housing Census, as the base
year, has projected number of Thai population during
2000-2030
to study and analyze trends and
population changes in demographic areas, i.e. fertility, mortality and migration. With this study an
assumption of population composition for its projection in the future can be obtained.
Time use statistics;
The National Statistical Office firstly conducted the Time Use Survey in
2001,
the latest was in
2009
by incorporating the questionnaire in the
3
rd
quarter of the labor Force
survey. The objective of this survey was to study daily time use pattern, differences of time use by
economic and non-economic activities. The findings of the survey are needed in National Accounts
compilation.
Vital Statistics
presented in this chapter were obtained from the Office of the Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Public Health. It showed the data relating to births and deaths.
According to the Civil Registration Act, birth must be registered at the Registration Office
within
15
days from the date of birth, and deaths must be registered within
24
hours from the time at
death or at the time the body found. Birth and Death Statistics were analyzed from the civil registration
database of Registration Administration Bureau, Ministry of Interior. There are

system as follows:
The old system: data were collected from the birth and death certificates, with

separated
parts. The 1
st
part was for the informant, the
2
nd
part was for the Registration Office and the last part
was for the local Public Health Office (currently is no longer submitted)
For this registration database system, data were from the second part of Birth and Death
Certificates. Some Civil Registration Offices use computer system to issue Birth and Death certificates to
the informant. The data are electronically sent to Registration Administration Bureau for the Civil
Registration Database after checking and flow to Ministry of Public Health for the national level
processing.

consular missions; official duties; and touring, sporting, doing business and investment or other activities
