, the Private College Act B.E.
2512 (1969)
was enacted for social suitability so that the
private sector can establish the institutes for higher education. Later, as a result of the revision on the Private
College Law, the Private College Act B.E.
2522
(1979)
was enacted as well as this Act B.E.
2535 (1992)
(particularly in some articles). As for present situation suitability the Private College Act B.E.
2546 (2003)
has been promulgated. Meanwhile, the Private Higher Education Act B.E.
2522
(
1979
) and the Private
Higher Education Act
(
Section
2)
B.E.
2535 (1992)
were cancelled. According to this Act, the Private
Higher Education Institutes are still divided into

types, namely universities, institutes and colleges.
Statistics on higher education were obtained from Commission on Higher Education, that
presented statistics data on student enrollments, graduates and teachers, etc., but excluded the
Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, Royal Navy Academy, Royal Airforce Academy, Police Academy
and Asian Institute of Technology.
Statistics on Literacy,
the characteristic of population from the survey of population change in
2005 – 2006
were obtained by the National Statistical Office. The survey were conducted from the sample
of private households, special households from municipalities and outside, except the foreigner households
in the embassy and international organization.
Literacy is mean literate persons are defined as person aged

years and over who are able to read
write simple statements with understanding in any languages. If a person can read, but cannot write, then
he is classified as illiterate.
Religion
information is obtained from Office of National Buddhism, Office of the Prime Minister.
Thai people have right and to choose their religions. Religion is closely related to culture. Religion
is a spiritual milestone of whole population. In addition, religion has important role to play in promoting good
deeds of the people and living with ethic and morality. The major role of religious advocates is to provide
guidance and advice to children to learn of principles of religion.
Cultural
:
Prosperous culture represents unique features, namely: religion, language, literary, art,
handicraft, dramatic art, music and custom. All these features are inherited from the past until today. The
national culture has been developed from time to time. The question as to sustainability, uniqueness and
adaptibility to changing conditions would depend on social conditions, entire population regardless of sexes
and ages.
