It is under the discretion of the Prime Minister, to grant or to reject any application for
naturalization. A favoured application shall be presented to His Majesty the King for approval.
Naturalization shall take effect upon its promulgation in the Government Gazette.
Statistics on Older Persons
:
National Statistical Office has firstly conducted the Survey on
Older persons in
1994
, secondly in
2002
and the latest one was in
2007
. This survey collected
information concerning the elderly, such as status of the elderly, characteristics of the elderly, their living
conditions and socio-economic status, including health conditions. The survey covered the population
aged
50
years and over, residing in sampled private households.

Welfare Survey. In
2002
NSO conducted separate Survey on
Disability using the definition of
“
Disabled Persons
”
according to the
“1991
Rehabilitation of Disabled
Persons Act
”
and covered private and special households. Later, in
2007
Disability Survey adopted the
definition of International of Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF), covering
impairment, activity limitation and participation restriction.
