Introduction
Background
This Social Indicators 2017 was
published by compiling and analyzing data
from various sources so as to obtain major
indicators, which were divided into 7
sectors, namely; Population and Housing,
Labour, Education, Health, Social Welfare,
Gender and Other Social. These indicators
can be used for the evidence-based plans
and policies, as well as for monitoring and
evaluating plans and policies, trends and
social situations.
The National Statistical Office of
Thailand has seen the importance of
availability of social statistics for public
and private sectors to use them for their
benefits in evidence-based plans and
policies; in solving social problems
therefore, the National Statistical Office
has published the publication on Social
Indicators every two years.
Objective
To study the social situations of
the country in the major areas of Population
and Housing, Labour, Education, Health,
Social Welfare, Gender and Other Social.
To provide better and updated
statistics and indicators for the sound social
plans and policies.
To provide an awareness of the
social situation and trends to the policy
makers.
