Tarad.com boosts mobile-commerce page
Rakuten Tarad.com, Thailand's leading e-commerce website, is giving
its mobile-commerce page a major facelift in a bid to increase the value of its
trade transactions and capitalise on the rapid proliferation of smartphones and
tablets.
The National Statistical Office said overall transaction value for
consumer electronics in Thailand was 67.7 billion baht in 2010, up by 10.8%
from 2009.
Pawoot Pongvitayapanu, the founder and managing director of Rakuten
Tarad.com, said the transaction value of mobile commerce accounted for less
than 5% of all consumer electronic commerce.
