4.4 HIV/AIDS Influenza and Dengue
Hemorrhagic Fever
4.4.1 HIV/AIDS
HIV/AIDS has been a major epidemic
with serious problems in all countries over
the world. Figures from the Ministry of
Public Health, where the new cases
admitted to the hospital of each year have
been compiled, showed that the AIDS
Morbidity rate was likely to decline
significantly from 2 persons per 100,000
population in 2012 to 1 person per 100,000
population in 2014.
In considering AIDS patients by sex,
it showed that number of male patients
were still higher than women and when
classified by age group it was found that
mostly or about 1 in 2 were 30-49 years,
followed by the age groups of 15-29 years
and 50 years and over and 0-14 years
respectively. It was noted that in 2013, there
was an increase number of about 10 times of
AIDS patients with less than 15 years old,
compared to that of 2012.
